Structuring content so Claude cites your business accurately.

Quick answer

Claude cites businesses most accurately when their facts — name, services, location, pricing model — are stated plainly and consistently in well-structured text, rather than buried in imagery, PDFs or vague marketing language.

Models read text, not vibes

A beautifully designed page full of abstract taglines might impress a human visitor, but it gives an AI model very little to work with. Claude — like other large language models — cites what it can clearly extract as fact. If your core information (what you do, who it's for, how it works) only exists as an implication rather than a direct statement, it's much harder to surface accurately.

Practical structuring tips

  • State facts as sentences. "LEAD is a digital marketing agency founded in 2023" is far more citable than a logo and a slogan.
  • Use real headings. Clear section titles like "Services" or "Pricing" help a model map your page's structure.
  • Avoid burying facts in images. Text inside a graphic or PDF is far less accessible than plain HTML text.
  • Answer likely questions directly. An FAQ section written in question-and-answer form is one of the most citable formats available.

The payoff

Get this right and Claude — along with other AI assistants — can describe your business accurately instead of guessing or omitting it entirely. This is the foundation of what we build with clients through our AI Visibility framework.
